I just wanted to recommend Martin’s online CBTI course!! It is really good and you get great results. I am on week 6 of the 8 week course and I’m sleeping so much better now. The sleep scheduling has been most effective for me as it has taken the panic away when I wake up in the middle of the night. I’m not in bed awake as much. I have a sleep routine I do every night which includes listening to an ASMR you tube video called sleepy pleasures about an hour before bed in a dark room with a scented candle. I also take magnesium a couple of hours before bed and have hot milk with a sachet of bimuno prebiotic mixed in. I spray lavender pillow mist, rub a lavender sleep lotion on my skin and a lavender oil on my temples, behind ears and nape of neck. I now associate my bed with relaxing and sleeping. Also earplugs and eye mask really help me. I have a magnetic sleep bracelet which I try too. And lastly I use a hypnotherapy CD for insomnia by mark Bowden purchased from Amazon. I use this if I can’t fall back asleep in the middle of the night. It’s exactly half an hour long so if I’m still awake at the end of it I get up for half an hour then try again in bed. I do initially try to fall asleep naturally without the cd and quite often I just lie there and see what happens and the next thing I know is I’m waking from another dream??It sounds a lot of work but really having the same sleep routine helps me and reassures me .
I highly recommend Martin’s course as his strategies work and you feel very supported and feel like you have a friend that cares. His feedback is very personal, helpful and encouraging. I no longer fear bed time and have improved my sleep so much. I hope some of the things that I am trying to use will help you too ?? And that you give Martin’s course a go as I couldn’t have improved without it ?
