I'm just getting off “I believe Doxepin”, do you think that med may interfere?

AD is an antidepressant taper (remeron) which also is used for sleep disorders on a sedative basis. Works at first but wears off over time. I think that since all drugs of this type chemically affect the brain, they overpower any other function until they are eliminated and a device like the Fisher Wallace becomes secondary and ineffective, just my opinion at this point since I have not had any luck with it.

Thanks guys for all the info on this CES. Will be most interested to hear progress reports. Fortunately I do have an open minded Dr and sleep-clinic psychiatrist, so i will put it to them. That is if such products are available in Canada! No doubt it would be twice the price as most things are up here!

The website has a person who is able to write a Rx in the event a person's own doc will not and I did not ask I just used her for $50. But I would be interested to see what a psyc doc would say since this a mini form of ECT for depression. Stimulation of the brain is what I believe that I have benefitted from the most whether it is for seratonin/melatonin enhancement or other chemical reactions. I am trying to tweak the device first for insomnia with anxiety and depression secondary as I think that is more long term. Although I have not gotten the immediate results in five weeks that I hoped for, I am inclined to favor keeping the device for its long term promise. I am using sleep supplements and natural vitamins that are know sleep aids as well as brain waive technology files that I listen to every night for a little over an hour purchased from this web site. The combination of all of these will give me an idea.what I need in the future without an Rx for drugs. Years of not doing the right thing will not be easy to reverse.

Thanks for that info. Good for you, you sound like you have a good handle on things. It does take years of research and trial & error before finding what works best overall. I will report back when I have seen my Psyc Dr at the end of this month as to what he says about the CES. Meanwhile i hope you get better results.

Ok I have been using ces since late October and it is making a difference. So far I'm sleeping an hour longer on the average…and yeah I track this all in a sleep log. The sleep is very good, too. It feels like the cumulative effect is not some sales pitch, but that it does get better the longer you use a device. By the way, I'm not endorsing any of them or affiliated with any of the companies. Just giving my experiences. Stress levels are way lower and my depression is fading away slowly. My anxiety was improved really fast. I have two different devices I'm using now trying to figure out which I like best. All I can say is in my opinion and from my experience, these are not a scam as long as you get an FDA approved device via prescription and actually use it. Figuring out what works best for youmisnthe biggest challenge. I started by an hour a day all at once. Now I do two 20 minute sessions. One in morning and one in evening.

Oh, I also read an interesting thing about people who can't stay asleep. It involved blood sugar dropping through the night and apparently taking a spoon of honey at bedtime fixes the imbalance. I figured since a doc showed that to me and I didn't know about it, I'd go ahead and share it here. We need all the info we can get.

                All for now.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to keep the CES device and continue to use it. I am off the anxiety drug now and will be off the depression drug at the end of the month. Hopefully I have a start on good things to come. I use it twice a day. We will what the next month brings. Good luck

Intersting. I see gman and gegatso mention anxiety. Do these devices only work when insomnia is caused by anxiety?

My understanding is insomnia for any reason.

I have been using the Fisher Wallace Stimulator for about 5 weeks now but have not seen any improvement in my sleep. I don't know if it's because I'm tapering off of Xanax and taking Doxepin. Sometimes I get sleepy while using it but by the time it's over and have to take it off, I'm not sleepy anymore. So I'm not sure I'm going to keep it.

I am considering to give a try to CES Ultra. After I finish with my other brain technology. I am now doing some sort of neurofeedback. But CES Ultra is expensive for me. Since in live in Russia in a small town. We have another level of prices comparing to USA, Europe and UK. But I wish to try it. I have no choice. I want to live. I do not sleep without any aids for several nights in a raw. And meds and herbs do not help me.
