i recently saw a documentary that talked about all the chemicals we are exposed to these days. they're in everything from hand creams to shampoos to even the water we drink and air we breathe. does anyone else think that maybe the always rising cases of insomnia may have something to do with all the chemicals we are exposed to these days? has anyone heard of any specific checmicals that should always be avoided if we want to improve our sleep?

Not sure on specific chemicals but if air pollution can cause cancer then why can't it cause insomnia!

This definitely wouldn't surprise me. Although I don't know of specific chemicals, it would appear that some molds may cause insomnia.

I wouldn't be surprised at any of this. I really think our big nemisis is over stimulation. We are constantly being bombarded by beeps, flashing lights and too much noise.

Yikes – and there was stuff marked as 'natural' that my wife and I buy that didn't do too well on their ratings!
