      I have dealt with chronic insomnia on and off for the past 10 years. It began in my early 20s and seems to happen around times of high anxiety or major (to me anyways) life changes. It usually lasts for several months, this most current time going on almost a full year. It tends to lead to a cycle of anxiety and depression. I’ve tried everything from meditation to medication. Lately, meditation has been helpful in getting me to fall asleep. I’m on night two of cutting out all prescription/OTC meds and significantly cutting down my alcohol intake, hoping that acceptance and removing crutches will bring some relief. I was so happy to find The Insomnia Coach podcast because I no longer felt alone and helpless in this struggle.
