      Anyone else on these?

They seem to be helping somewhat, although some nights like tonight (last night, 8 AM now) I relapse.

But I've noticed improvements since starting on citalopram – with very little negative side effects unlike the amitriptaline I was on before. I don't wake up feeling groggy any more.

Well, I actually wrote about Citalopram causing insomnia over on the blog a year or so ago: http://www.insomnialand.com/blog/this-antidepressant-may-be-the-cause-of-your-insomnia/

I'd definitely be interested in hearing more about your experience with the drug.

Ah thanks for this, Martin I'll give it a read! Interesting, and food for thought.

I'm in a pretty OK routine at the moment. Average sleepy time now is about 4 AM. Which is a lot better than the 2 nighters I used to pull then have a nap in the afternoon the day after.

Amitriptaline sent me haywire, I'd wake up feeling groggy, I'd suffer from sleep apnea when I did finally drop, I'd be knackered and just not be able to settle etc etc.

Seems so far I've been lucky with Citalopram, but I haven't been on it that long yet so.. will definitely keep you informed after another few weeks of being on it!
