Ive had insomnia for 15 months.. since the lockdown. I went thru Martin’s free 2 week course. At this time I can’t afford his full course. My question is i smoke marijuana regularly. More so since insomnia got bad. Quite frankly I’ve been self medicating w it bc i wake up after about 4 hrs of sleep and CANT fall back to sleep. Does anyone know if marijuana could be making my insomnia worse??
I need to get back to work etc. I can’t do this much longer. I’m 60 y.o. I had this problem back when i was 24 for 4 years. It was horrific as well. I couldn’t even work i had to move back home. Thru therapy, etc and YOGA seemed to finally help… so i guess u could say I’m in a relapse 30 years later.

It is my understanding that marijuana can affect our sleep in a similar way to alcohol — both drugs can help us fall asleep more quickly, but they can reduce overall sleep quality and lead to lighter and more fragmented sleep.

If you are looking for a longer-term solution to chronic insomnia, you might want to look into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques.

        I hope this helps.
