hi , i am looking into his programs and had a couple of questions.
1) how long do you typically spend a day going through the course?
2) any feedback on picking email guidance program or in person guidance program?thank you for your input
March 10, 2026 at 11:43 am #97909Hello. I purchased the course in November and still have another week. I am going slow and really taking my time to implement everything. That said, here are your answers more directly:
1) I will go through most of the weeks lesson rather quickly. Don’t quote me here but I would say two days and less than an hour for each week. Then I take 1-3 weeks to work on each lesson. You have six months, so why rush? He gives you the tool but then you need to learn how to use it… Also, see what works for you and what doesn’t.
2) I am on the self guided and its been great. Martin is really good at responding in the forum. I will say I had one call with him which was helpful for my situation.
My final tip… It was a full year from when I found this program until I paid for the program and that was a mistake. The free course is good but its just the tip of the iceberg. I wish I had invested in myself sooner.
March 13, 2026 at 4:19 pm #97997Hi,
I went through the 6-week self-guided course. For a given week, I initially ran through the lessons in a single sitting, but would listen to the lessons again throughout the week, especially if I was struggling. All the ideas made perfect sense upon initially hearing them, of course, but I found that repeatedly hearing the ideas, expressed in the way Martin does, helped me convert the ideas from simply making sense intellectually into a more truly rooted belief, in a way that trained my nervous system into recognizing wakefulness as unthreatening.
One more point. I had struggled with insomnia off and on for many years. Decades, actually (oof!). Wish I had done this course sooner! Life is too short to be caught up in an endless struggle with insomnia.
March 13, 2026 at 5:10 pm #98000I did the course plus the emailing back and forth with Martin. Both were invaluable. I also wish I would have just started sooner. I was so stuck and feeling extremely defeated and alone in it which is why having email access to Martin was comforting and worth it to me, but the course and the practice is what really changed everything for me. Martin would just reassure me and encourage me along the path the course lays out.
I dove right in and listened to the entire week of lessons as soon as it was available. I’m actually glad Martin made me pace myself by not allowing access to the next week early. I would relisten and focus on practice and implementation in my daily life. It has been a year since I completed the course and I am not even thinking or worrying about sleep ever. The daily practices I still use, since they apply to anything difficult we face, not just sleep. It is a mindset shift that I am beyond words grateful for🙌🏻🙏🏼March 13, 2026 at 9:35 pm #98004Hi. I took his course a year ago or so. It was best decision I made.
I got a course which I can email to
Martin. And his response was always really fast.
I took time to learn the things for each week and watched video
over and over again. Each week I had awareness through the course.I highly recommend Martin’s course. He is really caring and professional.
March 14, 2026 at 9:19 am #98007Hi, I recently completed the 6 weeks program + 1:1 coaching and it was life changing for me.
I heard of Martin through a friend who was doing the free course and I tried it myself. I had already done CBT-I, so most of what he shared was familiar to me.
The free course wasn’t enough for me, so I decided to enrol in the course + 1:1 coaching. I had already experienced the email exchanges, and I wanted something else.To your questions:
1) I was spending about an hour a day going through the course, then one week practicing the learnings.
2) This is a very personal choice, but if from a financial perspective this works for you, I’d recommend adding the 1:1 coaching. For me what made the difference, and the reason why today I am sleeping about 6.5 hours per day, was the 1:1 coaching sessions. I needed to unlock something that was rooted deep within me in my unconscious mind. It was all good to have all the knowledge and tools and practice, practice, practice…But I only started to sleep when one day I made a realisation in one of our 1:1 sessions. From that moment everything changed for me.
Every journey is different, and different tools will work for different people. But Martin can help you go deep into the root of the problem, into what is truly blocking you, and once you know that, once that’s on the table, then the tools, techniques and knowledge become secondary, because your body knows how to sleep and you now know what wasn’t allowing that.I wish you all the luck in your journey!
March 14, 2026 at 3:47 pm #98019Thank you so much for your reply. It was very helpful! Okay I’m getting really close and pretty sure going to purchase the course today. Good to hear you could have at least 1 one on one phone call. So I guess if needed you can purchase that extra?..
March 14, 2026 at 3:51 pm #98021thank you for your reply. you all give me so much hope
March 17, 2026 at 8:04 am #98075Hi, I took Martin’s course with email support.
I also went through the content of each week quite fast, as I liked to first get an overview of the theory and knowledge that the course offered. I was spending a couple of hours a day at the beginning but that’s only because I went through it quite fast. I did pace myself week by week doing the homework and applying the principles I had learnt.
The email support with Martin was invaluable. I don’t think it would have been the same experience had I not signed up for this form of support. He was responding with empathy, kindness and confidence. I never felt he was trying to build reliance on him or his program. It was all about empowerment.
I hope this helps. It’s not easy at the beginning, but it’s definitely effective if you stick to it. It will give you tools for life.March 17, 2026 at 8:21 am #98091Hello @richarlk 🙂
Yes — once enrolled in any of the course options you can book one-off 40-minute phone/video coaching sessions with me (subject to availability). There is an additional charge for those, which is currently $299 per session.
I hope this helps, and I appreciate everyone’s contribution to this thread!
