Hi everyone. Started taking Ambien back in April and it worked well. I am still taking it with Lexapro and Ativan (Lexipro 10mg for 6 days and Ativan 1 to 1 1/2mgs since July 6th since i fell into a depressed and anxiety state)

Psychiatrist recommended now doing only 1/2 dose of ambien to ween off some of these meds one at a time.

Looking ways to sleep more naturally and not rely on these meds long term.

Thanks, any advise or anyone gone through this kind of thing as well?

      Christian

Hi Christian, I have never taken sleeping pills, but I do take Lexapro since my Husband passed away over 3 years ago for depression. I have not been able to go to sleep without the TV on since then. Never had any problem sleeping before he died, but now I am wondering if it is th Lexapro and my cat that is very needy since he died. I drink camomile tea before bed and that seems to help some.

          Thanks sanora78

Sorry to hear about your Husband

I just started Lexipro and going thru some side effects. Has it worked well for you other than the sleep issue?

Hi Christian, Yes, the Lexapro helped me control my crying while my Husband was terminal & in a coma at home, but after 3 years I am going to try to get off them because my mental health is good now. My Sister said it doesn’t hurt to take them but I never relied on them till my Husband was so ill with cancer. Keeping my fingers crossed that now is the right time to taper off them. what side effects are you experiencing? Perhaps some of the side effects are caused by the Lexapro too.  Hope you are doing better.
