I made a huge mistake last night. I drank an energy drink at work, and I thought because I was still 8+ hours away from my bed time it would not harm my sleep. I’ve done it a few times before. Well I had the worst night i’ve had in probably 3 years since my major insomnia episode. I was pretty much up all night tossing and turning, not tired at all. My body was hot and sweaty. I ended up getting 2 – 3 hours of sleep before my alarm woke me. Now my anxiety is through the roof again thinking I am once again going to have to deal with an insomnia episode that lasts months. Do you think there is a chance this was just a bad night because of the drink?

Energy drinks are terrible for your health they constrict blood vessels activate the
sympathetic nervous system(Stress response) in the body so ya that is a pretty good to not sleep,a way better alternative that I used to take when I gave up Monster energy was Tangy Tangerine 2.0 this is full of essential vitamins and minerals also no crash is good for you the energy is real lasts way longer than energy drinks.

There are two possible explanations here:

          1. You experienced a difficult night because of the energy drink
          2. You experienced a difficult night because you thought the energy drink was to blame for the nighttime wakefulness you were experiencing

That’s all there really is to it.
