      Hi guys
      Im feeling disheartened because I’m only sleeping 3-31/2 of my 51/2 sleep window every night for about 2 weeks now, I had 1 night that I slept the whole 51/2 hours. I actually couldn’t physically get out of bed after I woke last night after sleeping 31/2 hours and laid in bed for 3 hours resting but not sleeping, but did have lots of worrying thoughts, have I ruined it all? I always go to bed at 1 and get up at 6.30 and up after 30 mins if not asleep. Any advice is welcome.

        No advice but wanted to say that I’m right there with you. My first few days of sleep restriction went great and I fell asleep right away. But two nights ago it took me an hour and then last night I didn’t fall asleep until 5am. Not sure how I got so off track but it’s frustrating. I hope these setbacks are normal and others can share their experience.

          Setbacks and ups and downs are completely normal! Ultimately, if you are able to stick to a consistent final out of bed time and not go to bed before the start of your sleep window (and only when you feel sleepy enough for sleep) you will start to fill that sleep window with sleep if you are allotting an appropriate amount of time for sleep.

          It will usually take a few weeks of consistent implementation to notice consistent results, so I’d encourage both of you to continue looking forward and see each night as a fresh start!
