Does anyone here write? I'm a writer myself, was wondering if people would like to share anything they've got?
I doubt anyone will like my writing, it's cynical. If it offends sorry!
I'll go first!
Living in a world of complaints.
In greed, sloth, and wrath
In corrupt governments.
In cheap, fast, sex,
In a world of liars, and christians.
In fear, and servitude.
In war, and tyranny.
In disease, and starvation.
Where manhood is based on your dick.
In a world that craves self indulgence.
In belief of higher powers.
In lack of common sense.
In a world where America is “Free”
Where priests rape, and money talks.
In a world of sadness and sorrow.
In black cold nights, filled with death.
In fast cars, and hot 'babes' with no souls.
Where guns make the weak strong.
In a world where no one makes a stand.
Where children are tortured and made fun of.
Where suicide is the release.
Where the wrong live, and the right die.
In streets full of the homeless.
In empty trash cans.
In overflowing streets.
In toxic water.
Where homosexuals are lesser beings.
Where religion is taking over.
In a world full of racism and prejudice.
In hijackings, and terrorism.
In totalitarianism.
In drugs, and alcohol.
We are born into a world of shame.
Living in a place of hate.
Striving in a hopeless society.
We are the broken machines
enslaved by belief in a higher power.
Living in a world of drugs.
Living in envy, lust and pride.
Living in gluttony.
We are the useless pieces of trash
that we throw to the side.
We are the crap on the shoe.
We are the loathing creatures.
Living in a world where every ideal is to pass on ones seed.
Where we bring chaos.
We are not beautiful flowers in a garden.
We are the all living, all breathing, self righteous crap
and no good will come out of us.
And were living in a world that loves it all.
February 1, 2010 at 4:38 pm #9377I used to write poetry a lot, helps with depression, I'll have to dig some out to put on here 🙂

That you will have to do. I write poetry and anything and everything.
February 1, 2010 at 4:42 pm #9379I write! Hooray for writers! Though I don't do poetry very much anymore, I can still appreciate a good one, and yours is very real. Poetry is empty without a little piece of the author's soul.
Here's a link to something I've been thinking of thinking of, maybe. I don't know if I want to go further with it or not; I'm always afraid a character like that will lose their flair over the long term.

Actually I think you won't need to worry about them losing their flair as long as you keep it interesting, try it, if you get into a bind ask for help and try to take a new approach to things.
I like it so far!
My poem is a three parter, there is that one, another one exactly like it and I never wrote the third, I will someday, once i finish the third I'm turning the three into a little narrative story.
February 1, 2010 at 5:07 pm #9381What a great thread, Franky!
I'm not much of a writer so don't have anything to share – which is odd, as English was my favourite subject at school! Maybe I'll come up with something to share in a few days 🙂

Narrative poetry is my all time favorite. In high school I did a narrative piece exploring issues I had to work through about God, family, etc. It was positively cathartic. I look forward to reading more, and thanks!

That would be a great thing to do Martin, if you can do it up!
February 1, 2010 at 8:53 pm #9384I write too. Unfortunately since I've been doing freelance writing for a living I haven't written much of my own stuff but I really should get back to it. As an aside to writing (sort of), I've started keeping a notepad and pen by the bed to write down any thoughts or worries that come to me before I sleep (or when I wake in the early hours). I think it helps.
February 2, 2010 at 11:07 pm #9385I write — for my magazine, other magazines (mostly music and history), short stories, and I've recently finished my first novel. In the process of publishing at the moment — taking forever!

Awesome!
February 4, 2010 at 4:48 am #9387I write junk like this: http://www.zombiephiles.com/zombie-survival-guide/zombie-survival-stay-home-mom
I have always had a fascination with apocalypse survival, but I was never a Y2K nut.
I've actually written other articles for various websites, but the zombie stuff is more fun.
Before you write me off as insane from lack of sleep, my other hobbies include crocheting, photography and travel.
I have so many interests, I'm never bored, but I'm a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none.

OMG, love it! My kids helped me put together a zombie survival kit, as they would see it. It included Crayons and water guns filled with acid. Zombie stuff is fun, I agree.

That is absolutely brilliant! Maybe we'll have to get you to write a zombie survival guide for insomniacs!

I think we have an edge. We won't be caught off-guard in our sleep, and we are used to going long periods without sleep. LOL
