Dont know what else to do

      I had cancer at 19, hodgkins disease, after 9 months of chemotherapy i was in remission but have suffered ever since with insomnia so bad that i only sleep between 6 to 8 hours a week, im 51 yrs old now been going thru this over 30 years and doctors wont help me, its not a come and go deal its every week, is there anyone here with same problem, i have done everything but get on my knees and beg for help from doctors, they all say its depression, yet they have tried at least 15 different anti depressants on me with no help, i believe the chemotherapy destroyed the sleep area of my brain because i slept good until the chemotherapy, and i do have mental issues but with most of the antidepressants i dont feel im depressed so why can i still not sleep,i recently had a doctor give me samples of a sleeping pill called belsomra it didnt help i have tried ambien, could take 2 at a time and not fall asleep, any help will be appreciated

        Sorry to hear about your health challenges and difficulties with sleep.

        The fact you haven’t found medication helpful isn’t too surprising since medications cannot address the thoughts and behaviors that usually perpetuate sleep disruption.

        Have you asked your doctor whether they think you’d be a good candidate for cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I)?
