      i use to sleep like a baby but was forced on Anti depressants 25 years ago from than on i began having sleep problems, than they put me on Zyprexa as well 10mg, bad nightmares, vivid dreams, it was dreadful..than in Oct 2017 i cold turkeyed off the Anti depressant and slowly reducing my Zyprexa i am down to 2.5mg but i am in Hell…i lay in bed for upto 12 hrs straight with no sleep, i havnt been in a deep sleep in over a year, i lay there body relaxed eyes closed, mind blank but brain is unable to switch into a sleep mode…at first i only had dry eyes, than every morning burning red eyes and now for the past 2 months eye strain behind my eye sockets and i now get headaches…i never got headaches…i lay in bed like a stiff board for 12 hours straight, it doesnt i have gone without sleep for upto 22 days, the last 3 nights no sleep, no have tried everything…any advice or some encouraging words to say it will get better would be great…thankyou

        Welcome to the forum. You might find it helpful to spend a bit less than 12 hours in bed since that usually serves only to generate more wakefulness and more fatigue. Spending 12 hours in bed also means less time available to do things that might add real meaning and value to our lives.

        I’d suggest reading this overview of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques since they can help address the thought processes and behaviors (such as spending long periods of time in bed) that can perpetuate sleep disruption.
