      Hi guys,

First post so bear with me,
I had had sleep issues for many years on and off, but it’s mainly concerning once I wake up about 4 or 5am I can’t get back to sleep… I can’t recall the last time I slept through to the alarm which goes off around 6am.
Falling asleep has not really been an issue as I’m so tired from the night before, although it’s a struggle to stay awake until bedtime which is around 10.30 – 11. I also wake about 2 am for the toilet but it’s the later awakening at 4 that really kills me off, mind races and it’s virtually impossible to get back to sleep. Any help or knowledge of this situation would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

        Hi,

Waking during the night isn’t uncommon, but our reaction to those awakenings can determine if we’re able to fall asleep or lie in bed frustrated. What do you think is different in your 2am waking and the 4am one? When your mind starts ruminating, do you find yourself in a struggle with those unhelpful thoughts?
