Hello, I’m Martina, and this is my first post here……I’m looking for some help with mainly sleep maintenance…..I fall asleep just fine, but then wake up early and can’t go back to sleep.

I go to bed at about the same time every night…..My bedroom is used only for sleep, but sometimes I do read a book (a real book, not a book on a screen) before bed.

There are no computers or tv in my bedroom…I don’t even keep cell phone in there…Everything is dark and cool at night.

I do have some mental health conditions (Anxiety/panic, Major Depressive Disorder, and OCD) that require me to take medications….My doctor has prescribed me Trazodone 200mg and clonazepam 2mg for sleep……Those have worked well for last 5 years, but for the last month or so, have not been working so well.

My doctor wants to add another sedating medicine, but I am hesitant.

Any advice, opinions , or thoughts about this are welcome ….I am really struggling with only 3-4 hours of sleep every night now……….Thank you, and I’m glad to be a part of the forums

Hello Martina! When you wake after three or four hours of sleep, why do you think you find it hard to fall back to sleep? What do you do when you wake after those three or four hours of sleep? Finally, can you share the time you usually go to bed and the time you usually get out of bed to start your day in the mornings?
