I am new to this forum. This is my first post. My insomnia became chronic 10 years ago when I was traveling. I slept for 5 days in a row due to excessive jerks that would disrupt my sleep. My PCP immediate prescribed Klonopin and I have been on that or similar medication since then.

What causes those and is there a natural way to calms those down. There are several nights where I do not get those at all and some nights those are really bad.

I had seen that video but was not convinced. There was a period in 2011 where I did not sleep for the whole week due to excessive hypnic jerks. I was put on Clonazepam and I have been on it for last 10 years and I usually sleep well when I take it. My doctor had told me that it has something to do with fatigue and muscle weakness that triggers excessive myoclonus. I would love to get off the medication if there is an alternate way.
