It’s midnight as I write this post, and I feel the anxiety in my jaw & chest as I think about the empty bed waiting for me. Earlier this year/late last year, I found the Insomnia Coach Podcast and it improved my sleep so much!! I was doing great, until new stressors came into my life and my sleep habits became inconsistent. So it’s time I take this healing seriously. I don’t worry that I will feel this way forever – I am confident I can sleep again. My concern is the burn out I may experience if I can’t fix this soon. I know that’s counterintuitive to the healing (i’m supposed to be practicing compassion), so i appreciate any tips on how you’ve been able to extend yourself some softness during relapses.

Thanks to your growth mindset, you know that change is possible. That life is a journey of ongoing development and growth.

Concern about burnout is valid and understandable. That concern might also be a reminder of your values and how the possibility of burnout could be an obstacle to you doing the things that are important to you and living the life you want to live.

You mentioned that you are supposed to be practicing compassion. Why are you supposed to be practicing compassion, and what might that practice look like? If a loved one was going through what you have shared, what would you say to them? What advice would you give them?
