      Hi all,

I have severe insomnia and am now taking psychotropic medications (and way too much – yes I know it’s not good) to get a modicum of sleep. Even with the meds, I still wake up every 2 to 3 hours or so. I also suffer from depression and mainly PTSD but my life is going pretty well at the moment. I just went on a 4 day jag where I slept maybe 2 hours. I almost went to the ER and then fell asleep thank GOD.

I have tried E V E R Y T H I N G under the sun, Vitamins, Theanine, Tryptophan, Melatonin, Ambien, Seroquel, a ton of other sleep aids, exercise ( I still do regularly). I don’t drink caffeine or take stimulants past noon. I limit my light exposure and even wear light blocking glasses.

IDK I have always been this way. I am a 45 year old female, former musician, who used to be up very late for work. Now that I am retired I am still this way.

My husband and I fear that I may have to have ECT again like I did 10 years ago. We are both not crazy about the idea but it did help. I just would like to talk to others about this. It’s ruining my quality of life.

Thank you in advance for reading this and for your support.

      Kay
