I'm suffering from foot drop randomly. For 8 days I've been laid in bed vomiting, unable to drink, unable to eat, sleeping most of the time, so i can't have damaged anything/broke anything/pulled/twisted. Asides from that, there's no swelling or anything.

But now I'm feeling better and up and about again.. my right foot is paralyzed. And I mean.. paralyzed, as in, I can't feel it, I can't move it, I can't even so much as make my toes move a fraction of an inch. I can't wiggle/move/curl my toes, I can't lift my foot upwards, it's numb and I just have no function or control over it.

Why would suffering from vomiting for a week cause foot drop and paralyze me below my right ankle?

I can put weight on the foot with no problem, there's no pain, no swelling etc. I can walk OK, albeit with a limp because as I said, I can't lift my foot up.

Weird as hell, and kinda worrying me.. a lot. Not helping the insomnia, 4 AM and I'm wide awake mostly with worry/fear!

Nope, I've got an appointment with my GP in a couple of weeks anyway to get another citalopram prescription and what not so will bring it up with her then.

But seems somehow, my week of vomitting and sleeping it off has mysteriously damaged some nerves somewhere resulting in 'foot drop', also commonly known as 'diabetes foot' where the nerves become damaged/weakened to the point you lose the function to be able to lift your foot or toes up as the muslces are too weak.

It was fine 4 days ago. I just woke up 3 days ago and suddenly the symptom was there.

Just an update, it seems the damage is permanent, because it's gotten no better. I know i'm stupid not going AE but I've been too busy and I can still walk OK albeit a little limp and there's no pain so will just wait 'til my GP appointment.

Time to admit I'm not as young as I used to be and can't keep going around behaving like I'm still a teenager! 😆

Quit drink/drugs/smoking/unhealthy eating & living for real and for good now, as I'm suspected that's what caused it, as a couple of days before the initial illness/twitching/vomiting I was testing a free sample of a 'research chemical' (alpha-Methyltryptamine). Scary thing is, it's 100% legal, and freely available to buy on the high street, I got it it from The Forum in Sheffield, I often pop there as I used to spend hundreds a week in there and now and again he gives me free samples to test.

Now I'm just grateful I'm feeling good and the damage isn't as bad as it could have been. I can't lift my foot or toes up, I can live with that. At least I'm still alive, and can actually still walk.

I'm going back to college, working on my e-community, got a nice new little flat lined up, time to grow up and drag myself out of my teens 8 years after I should have 😆

              Another update.

Been a few week now, but yesterday I got quite a glimpse of joy, I was sat listening to music, when I realized I could move my big toe! LOL. Not much, just a little wiggle. But alas, every little helps!!

Oh yeah definitely, how do you think I feel, I'm 28 at the end of this year – my joints ache like I'm in my 60s, slowing down in general, receeding hairline but I just can't seem to take the carefree partying or abuse my body like I could in my younger days. Jeez it was only a few years ago I felt invincible, could put in copious amounts of substances, chemicals and alcohol into my body with no affect. This past few months I seem to have aged 40 years before my time haha.

Yeah, it really starts to hit home that you aren't a young verile teenager any more when you start to feel the effects of ageing!
