      I have been suffering from insomnia for many months – started as fragmented sleep – falling asleep but awakening at 3am unable to go back to sleep. Over time the issue has gotten progressively worse. I have done so much research (maybe too much) and keep looking for tips that may help me get through this. I would be happy with 4-5 hours of sleep on any night

      What are others experiences with meds? I am trying to avoid them completely but in the middle of the night, wide awake it is on my mind. Any thoughts? Certain drugs that are more helpful than others? looking forward to some feedback from this forum

Medications aren’t usually a helpful long-term solution for insomnia since they don’t address the thoughts and behaviors that perpetuate sleep disruption — they can also erode sleep confidence since we can easily learn to believe that we can only sleep if we take a medication.

        You said you’ve done a lot of research — did you come across cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) during the course of your research?
