      I have a long history of poor sleep, but it would always resolve after a few days or removal from high stress situations. However, recently I’ve had a bout of several months of poor sleep and continuing to get worse. I think this round was triggered by some reliance on Ambien my doc prescribed for a change in work hours back in July. I went to see a doctor about my sleep issues a week ago because the lack of sleep was beginning to have a huge impact on my work, marriage, and day to day life. The doc gave me MORE sleeping pills. This time I was given Restoril. That didn’t work (made me feel AWEFUL). Then, he gave me Lunesta. I was fortunately traveling when the script was filled and couldn’t pick it up. At the time I thought “Great, now I won’t sleep at all during my work trip. This is going to be f*cking fantastic (insert eyeroll)”. However, during a long layover, I was looking for a podcast that might give me some insight to my issues. I found The Insomnia Coach. I listened to the episode about Jovana. Her story was very familiar. I used the techniques listed in the episode last night and HOLY CRAP. I actually slept. I look forward to completing the online course via emails. Thanks for providing this education. I’m very disheartened that the medical system has perpetuated my issues, but so happy to have found a resource such as this.
