Can’t seem to relax enough when I get into bed so as to be able to fall asleep.

        Hi nosleepyet!

Thanks for posting in the forum! Sleep is one of those activities when we try harder to sleep it becomes more difficult to obtain. Sleep doesn’t respond well to our efforts and can perpetuate the issue by increasing our arousal of the situation. Are you going to bed at a set time every night or when you’re actually sleepy (head nodding, dozing, etc)?

            Nosleepyet,

Are you having anxious thoughts about sleep as you go to bed? If you are, your arousal system could be overriding your sleep drive which could be a cause of your inability to sleep. Are you lying in bed frustrated you’re unable to sleep or are you getting out of bed and doing something pleasurable? The idea of getting out of bed when you’re frustrated is to strengthen the relationship between your bed and sleep.

What time do you usually go to bed at night, what time do you usually get out of bed to start the day, and roughly how many hours of sleep would you say you get on an “average”night, nosleepyet?
