Clear!!!! Bzzzt!! Yes, that seem to be echoing through my ears at the moment, even though it didn't happen lol!!
GOOD TIMES
- I feel so damn alive and healthy!! I've not felt this good since I was 18….and this is all down to having my heart cardioverted (they zapped my heart to get it back into regular rhythm)…no chest pains and the really cool thing is I can actually exert myself a lot more![*]I bought a nice micro stereo yesterday with DAB/Digital TV/DVD and iPhone/USB connections…it was supposed to be £99.99 but I got it at 20% discount…to begin with because they couldn't find the remote…but then they did and the manager said it was a display model so the discount still stands! What was even funnier was this little spoilt brat of a kid wanted it…and I got the last in the store![*]New medication for my diabetes, it is a hormone injection…and it seems to be doing me good too.[*]Bought 3 deluxe edition Queen albums on iTunes, brought back some great memories of when I had them on vinyl!![*]Some awesome dude has sent me a package…I think he is the founder of Insomnialand…is it Marvin or something? 😛 Should be here next week!!
BAD TIMES
- [*]I was hospitalised for a week….I was only supposed to be there 2 days!! Damn virus hit me bad and affected my heart….[*]I'm on moire new medication, this time warfarin, an anticoagulant….and also used as rat poison![*]Sleep pattern is a bit meh, I tend to fall asleep in my chair a lot at the moment, but when I go to bed I'm lucky if I get a few hours…
April 8, 2011 at 4:49 am #9493Marvin! He's a good egg, him!
Good times – The sun is shining in Oregon
Bad times – It's barely above freezing!

April 8, 2011 at 7:04 am #9494Well fortune seems to be smiling on me!!!
GOOD TIMES
- I discovered a voucher in the box to my stereo that gave me £21 of credit for an MP3 download site….and when I exhausted the credit, and said I wanted to cancel my account they gave me an extra £5 credit to convince me to stay…so I accepted that, downloaded an additional album and then cancelled my account! Wasn't too bad…I download 2 albums and several singles with all that, worthy additions to my music collection!![*]I'm still in touch with the amazing LindsayK, and I've been spreading the word of the book she has recently had published, and I looked for it on iBooks on my iPhone and sadly it wasn't there…I told her I'd look out for an epub formatted copy of the book and purchase it, and she very kindly gave me a pdf copy for free!![*]The doctors that I've been seeing have all been saying that I seem so much more lively and have a real sparkle in my eyes and seem so much more positive compared to even a few weeks ago….I guess having your heart shocked into a normal rhythm can do that for you!!
BAD TIMES
- [*]At this very moment in time…..nothing!!

It's good to see nothing down for bad times! Knock on wood that stays consistent!
April 22, 2011 at 9:06 am #9496Good times: I'm excited for this Saturday, to go to a Sexual Assault Awareness charity event at a university where I live. A friend of mine is a featured poet for the event; I'm going to support her and listen to her performance.
Also good times: my cousin Kim, who is studying abroad in Kamagaya-shi (Chiba prefecture, Japan), sent the family boxes of candy. So now our laolao has all sorts of great treats in her candy dishes for Sunday cribbage!
Bad times: My boss and his wife just recently left for vacation and left my father and I (his business partner and assistant, respectively) his duties. So now father and I are playing hot-potato with bossman's cell phone each time we cross paths; neither of us want to get stuck with it. (It rings. A lot.)
Also bad times: My carpal tunnel has been flaring up this past week, slowing down both my current illustrating gig and my comics blog.
But all in all, I've been in a good mood lately, regular sleep and writing issues aside.
April 22, 2011 at 10:05 am #9497Good to see things are quite sunny for you 🙂
As for me….
GOOD TIMES
- I'm still eating Cheetos! That “Marvin” fellow was so kind 😉
- Tron Classic, bought this and Tron: Legacy on Monday on BluRay and it was great to see the original in hi-def!
- Skittles…in the UK they currently have limited edition bags with blue ones in!
BAD TIMES
- I'm currently in hospital again although with any luck luck I'll be discharged today. Had a heart rate of 217, extremely low blood pressure and wasn't feeling too great!
April 22, 2011 at 6:30 pm #9498I hope your carpal tunnel gets better soon, Uly – I wanted to see if you'd draw an insomnia sketch or comic strip for us to promote on the blog.
Here's to your hospital stay being a short one, Yam.
Good times:
Knowing Yam is enjoying his Cheetos (I had to pull the ones from right at the back of the shelf to get the freshest packets)
The sun is shining in Oregon
I planted some jalapeno and anaheim chili plants. Can't wait for them to fruit!
Bad times:
Season 6 of Weeds not being on Netflix instant play. Annoying waiting for each Disc to arrive!
Having to deal with this pile of bills stacking up on my desk!

Really? What kind of sketch/comic strip? I'd be all up for it.
April 27, 2011 at 6:20 pm #9500That's up to you – just something you think relevant to insomnia, or what insomniacs have to go through.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

How about something like this..?
April 27, 2011 at 11:41 pm #9502I like it – did you draw that today?

April 28, 2011 at 12:51 am #9503Yes, I did. 🙂
April 28, 2011 at 8:19 am #9504That's awesome!
Maybe we can get you to do a series of them, maybe on the theme 'How insomnia makes me feel'? I could then post them on the blog for all our readers. When Baron comes back we'll have to see if he'd be up for some collaboration.
Anyway, I've well and truly hijacked this thread – maybe we should start a new one in the writers/arts corner to discuss this some more?
Good times
Being reminded just how great the members of this community are
Getting back into home brewing beer – got an ESB on the go this week!
Bad times
Waiting at least 6 weeks before I can taste my new beer!

May 24, 2011 at 9:17 am #9505Bad times:
– It's confirmed. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Apparently ther's no cure.
– My boss decided to sack me. On my first day back, after 4 months of sick leave. Jerk.
– Rabbits ate all of our cauliflower and brocoli-plants
Good times
– I got an appointment to get into a counselling group for the CFS. It'll be nice to swap stories.
– I'm going back to school in the fall. And because of the CFS, I got persmission to do it part-time. So I can the rest my body needs and still have time to study. Yeay!
– Since I got a nice resignation-bonus, I'm able to stay at home with my three kids for the whole 2 months if their summer-vacation. We'll have a lot of fun!
– It's sunny outside and it seems to stay that way for another while.
– We built a greenhouse in our yard and the tomatoes are growing nicely. Can't wait to harvest the first ones!
So I might have a few setbacks, but I wont let that get me down!
Still moving forward, only on a different path!
May 24, 2011 at 6:41 pm #9506Sorry to hear about the CFS diagnosis. That being said, at least now you have a diagnosis – a lot of the frustration with conditions like that is when you don't know what the heck is wrong. Maybe now you are looking for a new job you can find something that you're truly passionate about. Any ideas when/if you'll start looking for work again, or what type of career you want to pursue?
Rabbits ate your broccoli? I'm growing some too and have to admit I didn't even consider rabbits. I thought my biggest danger would be slugs and I seem to be winning that battle. I'll have to send the cats out on extra patrols!
Let us know how the CFS group sessions go.
PS I am jealous of your greenhouse – our tomatoes aren't doing too well without one!
