      Hi. I'm from Australia and I have menopausal insomnia. I've tried all sorts of HRT treatments and they work for a little while, but eventually stop working and my insomnia returns. I have good days and bad days. I'm lucky that today is a good day because I did manage to have a good night's sleep last night, but tonight could be an entirely different matter.

      That's how my life goes I'm afraid, I have to seize the good days and get all the things done that I have to do, because a string of bad days could come along and I will just feel like curling up in a ball and hoping that the world goes away. I'm sure all of you can relate to those feelings.

      Anyway, I'm currently single, and I'm the mother to two cats. Generally I prefer animals to people, because you can rely on animals, but I'm so sure about people. Since my menopausal probems started I have learned who my true friends are, and frankly I've realised that I don't have that many of them. Basically the friends who can't relate to what I'm going through don't bother about me much because I'm a drag to be around I suppose. However, I am lucky that I do have a few good friends who understand my problems and support me. A lot people don't even have that.

          Welcome to the community, Robskie!

          Quite a few of our ladies have suffered the same, so I'm sure you'll fit right in and maybe find some tips and advice that helped the others!

          I'm the same, I prefer animals to people. I'm a vegetarian, a huge animal lover (and no, not in the way you're thinking Martin !!), I've got a Jack Russell and two cats, 3 rats and soon I'll have a ferret joining my little happy pack!

              I am not sure if that applies to cats – they definitely have ulterior motives!!! I think ours chose us, rather than the other way around!
