      Hi,

      I am a 27 year old male from the UK. For the past month or so I have had increasing difficulty sleeping. It started out that I could get to sleep ok, but would continually wake up at 5am. Now I have bad sleep anxiety, am unable to get to sleep and sleep very poorly throughout the night. My problem is, I think, entirely psychological. The problem was triggered by a combination of stress and jet lag. I never thought it would lead to this. I have depression which gets worse throughout the day. Despite this I try to keep my life going. I enjoy running, cycling, football (soccer) and woodwork.

        There seems to be a question that pops up from time to time.

        “Does depression lead to Insomnia, or does Insomnia lead to depression?”

        What's your opinion on this given your situation do you think? Have you been to see your GP?
