Hi there, I'm new to insomnia land and thought I should introduce myeslf. Friends call me mon and I'm a new parent to a beautiful 4mnth old girl, Penny.

I'm not a chronic insomniac but have recently been suffering many sleepless nights, and with a daughter who started doing her nights at 3weeks of age, it's starting to really take its toll. I'm assuming it's from withdrawal, not quite sure what else could be causing it! I should add that my dc has had me on oxicontin for the past 4 years, when I found out I was pregnant (not til 23weeks!!) I immediately started my detox, but on the advice of my midwife I had to stop once I started experiencing withdrawal symptoms as apparently if mums feeling sick, bubs is feeling even worse.

Anyway I went off the medication completely a little over a month ago but not without help from Valium, which is when I started my sleepless nights.
