Good day to you sir.
Been suffering a mild form for two years now, possibly doesn't help that I am living near a noisy road. Found Lavandar good for inducing sleep, listening to Classic FM and earplugs (strangely). Also anything with milk in is good, no fizzy drinks at night and low lighting helps. Hope this is OK. Also no mirrors facing the bed as in Fang Shui this is bad.
🙂
August 30, 2010 at 3:33 am #11535Welcome! And that is a very good point you made about fang shui. What should we address you as?
August 30, 2010 at 8:06 am #11536Aura sir. How is you?
August 30, 2010 at 4:00 pm #11537Hello Aura…I'm one of the “AWOL” members, I've been less active lately, but hope to be more active in the future again. Welcome.

You are most welcome madam 🙂
August 30, 2010 at 10:48 pm #11539Ah, you've managed to get some of our members out of the woodwork, Aura – good one!
Today's blog post about sleep spindles might be of interest if you think noise may be to blame (or at least a contributing factor) for your insomnia.

September 1, 2010 at 11:21 am #11540You make an interesting point Aura Todd, that I missed earlier. I do sort of, “get” and believe in Feng Shui. Unfortunately (or fortunately), an entire wall of my room is mirrors all the way across…however, my bed is in a sort of nook, and is about as “not facing the mirrors” as one can get (bed faces window, have to turn my head to actually see the mirror.)

Hi Lorene
A great way of getting used to how everything works is by diving in and giving things a try – and you successfully made a post, so you're doing great!
To introduce yourself properly, you need to create a new topic. You can do this by clicking the tab that says 'Start a new topic' on the upper right hand side of the screen. I've attached a copy of the image below (click it to enlarge – it's the button on the far right) so you know what to look for.
Let me know if I can be of any further help. I look forward to reading your introduction 🙂

Whoohoo, a fellow Brit! 😀
Have to agree with the lavender tip. It doesn't help me get straight to sleep but I always feel much more relaxed when I smell it. It must be a sense memory thing (mostly because my chronic insomnia has left my real memory shot!)
Welcome to the forum Aura 🙂
September 7, 2010 at 3:09 am #11545Welcome, please forgive my delayed response.
Hope you enjoy your visits here, the people are a great support network and I feel honoured to call the people here my friends and hope they see me the same way.
See you around the boards, and have fun!
