Hi guys, I am 22 old boy who had a good sleep previously. Then for the past three weeks I got wake up couple of times then now I barely can sleep. If I sleep it will be not more then 3 hours now. Then I’m fresh. I don’t have any idea what has happened to my body.

I has back pain for 1 year now and recently I had drink coffee every night as I want to stay awake for exam. The exam ended, I stop drink coffee after I realized my wakefulness sleep. My condition continue to persist and now it have been three weeks without a good sleep. Hmmm….

Guys please give me some advices on how should I go through this sudden life changing event.

      God please help me…

It sounds as though you have quite a lot going on in your life — chronic back pain, and exam stress. Therefore, it’s no surprise that your sleep has been suffering as a result. It’s important to allow your sleep time to recover naturally after stressful events or difficult periods before becoming concerned that something is wrong.

Is your biggest challenge falling asleep at the start of the night, or staying asleep once you initially fall asleep?

Btw for your question I’m struggling for both. It’s so hard to fall asleep and maintaining a sleep. I often wake up with a lucid dream. Sometimes nightmare.

I would suggest that you try to recognize your sleep will always be disrupted by stress and stressful events and that it will have the opportunity to recover once these stressors pass.

It’s important to try to avoid compensatory behaviors that can actually make the sleep problem worse. So, try to avoid daytime naps, only go to bed when you feel drowsy and ready for sleep, and always get out of bed by the same time every day.

There’s plenty more advice in the ‘Resources’ section of this website. Good luck, and keep in touch!
