      Ok so I have anxiety BAD…and to accompany that I have the hardest time turning off and falling asleep….it’s getting outta hand

        It’s 115 and I’m having a horrible sleepless night so far…I tried a bath,music,camomile tea….shutting everything down finally had to get up and watch some mindless tv…nothings working….I’m so anxious and panicking…just reaching out for chat and support

          What I have read for the issue you are having, as well as I, is that the more you get panicky and more anxious, the less you will succumb to sleep. I recently read a book that states, it will not exacerbate if you acknowledge the anxiety and then give it a funny name, or a label, like “chest” if your heart is beating fast or something like that and continue either counting breaths, or you can notice sensations like bringing awareness to your toes, feet, ankles, legs, up the body to your head. Not tightening them, just how they feel. A mindfulness.
          Something I am going to start trying as I have been where you are so many times.
          Also, I have read that if you do that and don’t keep jumping out of bed and going somewhere else, you will start to relax more, whether you sleep or not.

            It sounds as though you are putting a lot of effort into trying to make sleep happen — I wonder if that could be part of the problem? Have you tried asking someone who sleeps well what they do to make sleep happen?
