      Hi all,

      Good to be here with people who understand 🙂 I have almost completed Martin's free training but most of it I was doing already. Have not signed up to CBT as I can't afford it at the moment and I recently completed a CBT course.

      Have been suffering for a year now and have tried CBT, ACT, Sleep School London, mindfulness, banning clocks, sleep hygiene and pretty much everything apart from medication. Quite unusual as most people seem to go for medication first.

      I am about to go the doctors to get medication as feel like i'm stuck in the habit of not sleeping, as even when i'm calm and relaxed and looking forward to bed, I still cannot sleep. I'm hoping a week or two of medication might break the habit for me (it did with my friend who had the same thing). I know there are horror stories about medication, but I have horror stories from not taking medication. Insomnia has ruined the quality of my life. I can't say how many hours I get a night as it's often light and broken sleep or no sleep at all.

      Looking forward to speaking to people who know how to tackle this once and for all!

        You've certainly given a lot of different treatments and therapies a try – I'm surprised that one of them helped. Any ideas why the CBT and Sleep School weren't helpful? Did you find it difficult to follow specific aspects of those programs?
