I play the drums (four years this year! good at blues ), I do pinup photography (which i LOVE! i do the hair and makeup too), and I've just started knitting! It's really good for if you get bored easily or always have to be doing something with your hands. I'm trying to make a beanie with space invaders on it but the gauge is so small it's taking me aeons. Good fun though!
You'll have to post some of your photos for us to see – we'd love that 🙂

and scuba diving
March 2, 2010 at 2:45 pm #9572I've always been nervous about scuba diving as I can't handle the idea of forcing my ears to pop! I always settle for snorkelling instead!

March 3, 2010 at 8:52 am #9573I'm a reader – a HUGE reader – and I write reviews for a couple of publishers and websites – the payment is the book I read lol. I have a Sony ereader too and love it as more books can come with me now. I also love music. I've just been given a Nokia X6 phone to review and it has Comes with Music. It means I can download music free for a year then keep it afterwards!!! Heaven for me lol. Crafting is another hobby. I love to make cards and have just got into beading and making keyrings. As I'm off work I also spend time on twitter chatting and entering competitions. People think that's very sad but I like it.
March 3, 2010 at 2:42 pm #9574I've got a Sony Reader, too – as does another of our members (LindsayK I think). It's great – have you rented books from the library with it yet?

March 3, 2010 at 3:06 pm #9575I don't think we can do that over here – yet…… we seem to be a bit slow on the uptake. Most ebooks I have are from American websites.
March 3, 2010 at 3:37 pm #9576Shame – although having said that, I haven't tried it yet. I need to sort out my membership for New York City library – definitely before I move out of this city as they have quite a large selection of free ebooks for rent.

March 4, 2010 at 7:54 am #9577It is a brilliant idea! Are you planning on moving then? Where to?
March 5, 2010 at 7:51 pm #9578We're hoping to get out of NYC and head west – want to live in California, maybe around the Bay Area!

May 31, 2010 at 1:16 am #9581Lots of musicians and “readers” out there. Cool.
I just recently (after being on brain numbing dose of meds) readjust my meds, so I've been literally reading for the first time in several years. (For years, on these meds I literally could NOT sit still/focus for much more than a magazine article.) Now that my creativity is “back” I also hope to get back into writing…and eventually making films.
In the meantime, I really enjoy poker. I was about ready to give up on, “lotto players” as we call them were driving me insane. But I've found two great places to play poker (for free) and really enjoy the strategy. I know some think it's gambling, some think it's just luck, but if you're really playing seriously it's all about noticing betting patterns, statistics, pot odds, implied odds, what you think your opponent has, what you think your opponent thinks you have, etc. It's a very skill-based game–as long as you're not playing with idiots.
I also collect just about everything from DVDs and BLU (from obscure, out-of-print, to mainstream.) I don't have as big a collection as most would think since I talk non-stop about cinema, but it is mostly indie and foreign and Criterion and for BLU I have a lot of great action movies. I also collect autographs, poster art (like movies, theatre), etc. I also have been a lifelong collector of stuffed animals. I have so many they are jammed in every corner of my room and closet!!!

I love LA, wine country, etc. But I live in the Bay Area, and I don't think I ever want to move. Moved here almost ten years ago. Awesome weather, multiple diverse cities all within driving distance, great public transit–and if you have a car, consider contra costa country…commute is long, but rent/house prices much cheaper (it's suburbia for the most part though.)
