While searching for something else, i came across this website http://www.1-800homeopathy.com/blog/sleep-remedies/ which is listing several sleep remedies I never heard of. i know that some of you are on prescription drugs to get a good nights sleep, so perhaps some of you might be interested in try something less invasive then prescription drugs.
February 1, 2012 at 2:11 am #13602On that page it lists Calms Forte. I tried it. It did nothing for me. So I stay away from “homeopathic” remedies since if it doesn't do anything for me (i've tried others) then why pollute my body with it. I am on a generic sleep aid and a muscle relaxer. The sleep aid (doxepin) keeps me asleep when I finally get to sleep but the muscle relaxer actually helps me get to sleep. It makes me drowsy when nothing else has worked. My psychiatrist wont prescribe the muscle relaxer but my GP decided it was okay to prescribe for me for sleep since I have taken it many times (my mom's) and it works 90% of the time to get me to sleep.
I'd rather take “invasive” drugs if they work. Nothing homeopathic has worked for me for insomnia. I have insomnia EVERY night. No if's and's or butts. So I take what works.
February 2, 2012 at 1:15 am #13603The link I provided was only meant for those, who are searching for something different then prescription drugs, for various reasons.
Since you had your experience with homeopathic remedies already, the link was not meant for you.
February 2, 2012 at 1:17 am #13604No, you said:
“…some of you are on prescription drugs to get a good nights sleep, so perhaps some of you might be interested in try something less invasive then prescription drugs.”
You implied that those ON prescription drugs should try it since it's “less invasive” than prescription drugs.
February 3, 2012 at 12:54 am #13605It's only for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough; you are obviously not one of them.
February 3, 2012 at 2:19 am #13606Thanks for sharing the link, Jita. Did you try any of the remedies mentioned?
I'm pretty sure you didn't imply that those on prescription drugs should try homeopathy as it's a better treatment option – most of us here are sleep deprived so from time to time we'll take things the wrong way and it looks as though that may be what happened in this instance. In fact, I often write about alternative remedies on the Insomnia Land blog – if only we could find something that worked for all of us, eh?
I'd be interested in hearing from other members on the subject of homeopathic treatments since I think it's something a lot of people have researched.

February 5, 2012 at 4:53 am #13607Homeopathics only work if they are prescribed specifically for you. They have to fit your entire symptoms picture, which is why you need to go to an experienced homeopathic doctor if you really want it to work. But when you do hit on the right remedy at the right potency, it can be like a miracle.
February 5, 2012 at 7:27 pm #13608I have been using Coffea (a homeopathic remedy) for the last 4 weeks, I am still using my prescription sleeping tablets (Zopiclone), but am finding that after 20 years I am tired of the hang-over effect it has the next day, I also suffer from depression, common side effect of insomnia – so I am seeing a hemeopath next week to see if they can work out a specific remedy for me – I am far to young to be feeling this tired and drained – so here is hoping, I will feedback.

June 22, 2019 at 10:00 am #30280I tried around prescribed 20 homeopathic remedies to help me sleep and only Coffea worked for me. But the homeopathic doctor must be a very good specialist to prescribe you a homeopathic remedy. They vary from person to person even with the same symptoms.
