Any questions about medication should be directed at your doctor. With that being said, it is possible to come off sleeping pills under medical supervision. Have you asked your doctor about a tapering-off plan?

Not yet , I am here thinking that I shall have replies on my topic.

I once went to sleep disorder specialist, she recommended de addiction centre in 2013 but I quit benzos on my own in 2016 but start it again in 2017.

The best regiment for tapering off any med I ever read was from a Doctor. He said to take the med for 6 days, then skip a day, then take it for 5 days then skip 2 days, then 4 days and skip 3 until you are no longer taking any. It takes a lot longer. The usual way is every other day for a week then cut them in half and every other day etc. etc. The drastic method is cold turkey. That one can be very hard. And of course you should let your Doctor know. I managed to get off Lexapro doing the every other day method. It was awful. Doctors don’t seem to let you know how hard it is to get off a med. I currently stopped taking Zolpidem but I stopped cold turkey because it wasn’t working to help me get to sleep. It’s been over a month since I stopped it but naturally I’m having trouble sleeping. That’s why I’m on here trying this help for sleeping. So far, it is slowly getting better but still have good and bad days but my motto is one day at a time :). Hope this may help someone.

It’s hard going cold turkey as sleepness nights are results. In Feb I was taking 1 mg clonotril but last night to sleep on time I took first 6 pills then I took 3 more & I got sleep on time. Poor thing is next day that is today I slept too much & later in evening I slept again.

These days I have started taking more pills to get sleep so that I get rid of unnecessary thoughts, which become some sort of mental problem kind of thing too. My mom says you don’t have mental prb it just become ur habit. I understand completely I have some habits which are in my head & I kept it satisfy for its urges. It’s as I understand perhaps like ocd.

              🙁

I hope everything will be okay in my life whether it’s sleep or ocd or anything else.

              Thanks
