      I love this quote by Sydney Banks: ‘If the only thing people learned was not to be afraid of their experience, that alone would change the world.’

      I think this has helped change the way I now view sleep. I am aware that it is fear of not sleeping which has kept me feeling hyper vigilant, and this in turn has kept me awake!
      The trick is to realise that once our minds take over, and think they have to help us out of an experience we are not happy to be in, it only serves to perpetuate the problem. Why do we need to know the time when we wake in the night? We don’t! It is only our thinking mind that prompts us to do this, a good sleeper would naturally fall back to sleep without thought.
