Hey everyone new to the forum here. I am in the midst of an unpleasant relapse.

For the past 2 nights I I tend to have this problem where I am not too anxious during the night while I can’t sleep, but I feel like I I’m mindlessly dozing and then I snap out of it and am completely awake. I don’t think it’s hypnic awareness as that’s something I am familiar with and have overcome. Its like a hypnic jerk without the jerk if that makes sense. Almost like I’m entering stage 1 sleep since I have no recollection of any thoughts and then boom, I’m up. I often experience a dry mouth when this happens so that could possibly be a clue that I’m snoring and therefore in a light stage of sleep.

Could this possibly be a form of hyperarousal?

It’s not fun as I go to bed at 10 and by the time I reach 3 am I give up and take a pill and settle for some very average sleep that usually only lasts 3 hours. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks in advance.

@Alexx11 – welcome and thanks for sharing.

What do you think the source of your anxiousness at night is? Are you currently implementing CBT-I techniques?
