I got sleep!!! Tuesday afternoon, I went to bed at 4:00 pm. I slept straight through until 7:00 am. I never even blinked after getting into bed and settling down! My husband let me sleep. I missed supper and a snack, and I really didn't care. I was up at 7, fumbling for my pain pills, calcium, and a muscle relaxer because I had a bad leg cramp. I was going to take those three things, wait for the leg cramp to let up and go back to sleep. Just about the time I was going to crawl back into bed, the phone rang. A friend was having a medical emergency and wanted Marty to drive her to the emergency room of a hospital 75 miles away. She had been to our local ER and was given the wrong antibiotic, to which she reacted badly. She sounded horrible, so I wasn't upset with her. For the moment, I was wide awake. Sometime around 8:00 am, I fell asleep in my chair and stayed asleep for the next couple of hours.

My caregiver came and I had to hurry up and get cleaned up so we could go grocery shopping. That's the first time in a very long time that I felt wide awake in that store. I wasn't weaving in my cart, I didn't run into anything or anyone. I got home by 2:15. After Marty brought in the groceries, I got them unpacked and put away and still had energy to spare. I sat here at the computer and accomplished quite a bit, while Marty got some much needed rest. That is the farthest he's driven since his heart attack. I can imagine how he felt. But it was a milestone for him…a significant one. Now he knows he can do it when he wants to, not just when he has to run errands I dozed off for just about a half hour last night, so that I was unable to get sleepy enough to get into bed. However, at some point, I did fall asleep in my chair. I slept well enough that I am just now getting tired.

So, I'll end this here and try to relax enough to get a little nap in. I have no deadlines to meet. I have no peole to see, no places to go, nothing to do. so I think I'll sneak in a little nap.

      Bye, all

      Becky.

Thank you, both, Martin and Jane. I have been getting a bit more sleep lately, even if part of it is in my wheelchair. Sometimes, the best sleep I get is in my chair! The only problem with that is the swelling in my legs…I have cellulitis…and the pain in my hip and back. But, I can remedy those. It's just good to sleep. I also hope I get more of it.

            Thanks again,

            Becky
