I think it may be sleep anxiety

      Hi, first post on the forum.

      I have no problem falling asleep, it often only takes minutes, but I have the constant problem of waking up between 1am and 2am, then find it almost impossible to fall back asleep. It has been going on for so long now that I feel it has turned into sleep anxiety.

      Constantly waking up, then wide awake, feeling exhausted all day every day with bad headaches, it just feels never ending. I think subconsciously I am anxious about going to bed and not sleeping.

      I am not sure where to start with trying out and advice and techniques, any help please?

        Here is what I have found helps me, just before I tell myself I’m going to rest (not sleep) I say insomnia I want you out of my brain, my body, my room now!! I say that a few times, meaning it!!_ When I wake up, or some nights when I can’t get to sleep, I kick in the “Night Time Wakefulness” What I do is lay in the dark with my eyes open. In time they will start to close, until I fall asleep. Yes, it will take time some nights, but what do you have to lose, continuing to toss & turn for hours!! You have to get out of your head outside thoughts, as hard as it is. It works!!
