I’ve been feeling very sleepy prior to my sleep window. Between 8-10, I feel really, really sleepy. I tend to sit my couch just relaxing. At times, I experienced microsleeps. Then, I would feel a bit awake, and I would also have some difficulty falling asleep that night.

      Has any anyone experienced this?

Why types of activities do you do prior to your sleep window? I feel like watching TV ain’t ideal. I have read a few times but I don’t want to be too stimulated prior to bedtime.

Any activity that is relaxing but not overly stimulating is ideal – crafting, crossword puzzles, coloring, etc. When I experienced insomnia and was having a difficult time staying awake until my sleep window began, I watched TV standing up – very hard to fall asleep while standing!

Thanks Scott. I’ve tried to not watch TV 2 hours prior to bed time. I don’t really fall asleep watching TV. I got into trouble when I just sit around on the couch and/or listen to music.

Now, once I began nodding, I walked around a bit. I’ve kept a 7 hour sleep window, and have been going to bed once I feel sleepy. I’ve been able to wake up and fall back asleep the past few nights. I have less sleep anxiety now as I meditate and practice relaxation techniques throughout the day/night.

My recommended sleep window is 1:30-7:00. I get ready for bed around midnight, and I go to sleep once I feel sleepy.

Should I stick with this strategy?

          Thanks,

Ability to fall asleep when you go to bed, returning to sleep if you wake in the middle of the night and less anxious thoughts toward your sleep issue – it all sounds like your sleep is getting much better and I don’t see any reason for you to change, do you?
