      Teleshopping, re-runs of Columbo with the signing man in the corner, and tonight a new low – Psychic Sally on the Road!

      So I had a little Google to find out if there's any sort of forum where fellow insominacs natter, and found this. I'm not expecting a magic cure. The first thing I shouldn't be doing is turning the computer on, but there are nights when I may as well, and this is one of them. I've had sleep problems since 1997 when I had a particularly stressful house move. I got my best ideas at 3am of what to do to push it along and make it happen, and unfortunately the pattern stuck. I've tried all the usual cures and a few unusual ones too, but here I am.

      I'm not sure what to expect in here, and it is a bit odd having to post something before reading it, but hopefully whatever I'm going to find beats night-time telly!

        Have you sought any medical advice for your insomnia? If so, how did you get on? What treatment options have you explored so far?

        I'm sure you'll find plenty of useful information here in the forums. If nothing else, at least you now know that you aren't alone and you have the support of every single member here.

          Thanks Martin.

          Yep to medical advice, I know all the usual stuff about keeping the bedroom a calm place free of gadgets, painting the walls neutral colours, get up when you can't sleep etc. etc. and have an emergency supply of sleeping pills when nothing else works. I think half the problem is that I've taught myself to wake up at stupid o'clock when there's something on my mind, and it's a pattern I need to unlearn.

          Actually it does help to know that it's not just me. Not that I'd wish insomnia on anyone, but you know what I mean.
