hello, I have been with insomnia almost for 3 months and since I have my second baby I started one day not to sleep at all. So the doctor prescribe some meds but I really want to get off and go back sleeping normal. There’s days that if I could I can stay the whole night without sleeping an hour and I know that’s u healthy so the next day I get more anxiety. Anybody already went through this that could help me out.

sometimes I have to take clonazepam which I don’t want to take it because it gets very dependent for my body to stop it, I wish I could try something natural. I try melatonin it didn’t help. 6 mg max. Rescue drops, cbd oil, Benadryl for a while.

I’m sorry to hear about your recent struggles with insomnia, Aleja. Can you tell us a bit more about your sleep? What is a typical night like? When do you go to bed at night, when do you get out of bed to start your day, and how many hours of sleep would you say you typically get on an ‘average’ night?

Do you tend to struggle more with initially falling asleep, or with staying asleep during the night? Is your baby interrupting your sleep?

Thanks for writing back. It happened when my baby started to sleep better at night then I had the effect is he going to get up so my mind keep me like that for hours until the next day. Lacking of sleep gave me anxiety and tire and not cooperating to do anything the next day. My issue is falling asleep so I had to take clonazepam but I am not a fan of meds either benzos. I start my day when my two kids wake up, but having another baby maybe I got more overwhelmed. Now he is better but I struggle to sleep. Sometimes the cycle repeats and there’s days that I don’t sleep until 4:00 and then I decide to take a med but if it’s too close to morning I just stay up. If it’s 1:00 am I take a tablet. So sometimes sleep like 3 hours other times more it depends.

I think you would likely benefit from keeping a sleep diary for a week or two so you can get a better idea of your average nightly sleep duration and your typical sleep schedule (if you have one). When you have this information you can formulate an appropriate sleep window.

Here’s a basic sleep diary you can use:

            I hope this helps!
