I have been having insomnia since last 2 months. It started gradually, in the month of March & April I had 2 or 3 days in a month where I had sleep issues.
But it worsened in May, June and July where for 3 or 4 days a week I had poor sleep. On some days I feel that I hardly get couple of hours of sleep.
I can’t seem to fall asleep, once I fall asleep I think I sleep well. I do feel sleepy, yawning but don’t fall asleep.
I don’t feel tired at all during the day. I have noticed that more I work e.g. heavy yard work, cooking my brain gets more active,

I tried over the counter melatonin 3 mg, sleep aids. Met with primary care physician, tried doxepin 20mg for 10 days, it helped on some days.
Now I am off any medication, except Synthroid for thyroid.

I used to sleep like a baby, not sure what changed.

Sorry to hear about your recent struggle with sleep. How have you been doing the past couple of weeks?

If you are finding it hard to fall asleep at the start of the night, you will likely find it helpful to create and follow a regular and appropriate sleep window. Also, make sure you are always out of bed by the same time every day and try your best to avoid sleeping (napping) during the day.

This will help build sufficient sleep drive during the day and help ensure that, by the time you go to bed, you are sleepy enough for sleep.

        I hope this helps.
