This is my first post. I had a recent health scare that seems to have been fine. I was stressed for weeks and worried that I threw off my whole body and circadian rhythm. At first the insomnia started with one middle-of-the-night wake up because I was experiencing some back pain. Then, it turned into full insomnia where I couldn’t fall sleep or stay asleep. I have never had this issue before. I am finding that meditation and breathing before bed helps. I am also following the sleep hygiene and sleep resources here. Wishing everyone a restful, good night.

Health scares are a common (and understandable!) trigger for sleep disruption — usually sleep gets back on track by itself but if it doesn’t that’s usually because the way we think about sleep changes and we might also start implementing behaviors in a bid to improve our sleep that actually have the opposite effect!

I am glad to hear that you got the all-clear after your health scare — and that you’ve been digging into the resources available here. How are you getting on since you posted?
