      Hi!

      My name is Anna and I am 16 years old. I have been suffering from insomnia for 3 month now. It all started with a huge fight with my coach who does not speak to me since. I am also quite stressed about school so that might be another reason for my sleeping issues.

       

      I have trouble falling asleep every schoolnight and I need to wake up at 5.30 the next days so I really need this to stop. My mind keeps thinking and I just cannot stop. I usually cannot stand the sound and feeling of my heartbeat which is usually very fast even though I am just laying in my bed. There are days when I go to sleep at 10pm and 3am I am still up.

       

      I tried meditation amd some other stuff but obviously no drugs. I am always afraid of the night, the big question is: “Are we going to sleep today?”. I hate the feeling of feeling phisicly so tired that it hurts to be up and I could cry amd still not being able to sleep. Watching the clock and realising I have only 2 hours to sleepe and of course hadaches in the morning which I try to cure with coffee.

       

      I was sent to the school therapist, amd it is good to talk to someone about my pdoblems but the insomnia did not go away. It is the new year now, and I just really want to be in a good realationshio whit sleep amd the night. I am done being tired all the time.

       

      If you could help me I wpuld really appriciate that!!

        I’m sorry to hear about your sleep issues, Anna. It’s completely normal for stress to make sleep more difficult. Usually, when the stress passes, sleep will recover. Have you taken any steps to reduce the stress that originally triggered your sleep issues? For example, is there anything you can do to reduce the stress you feel about school? Have you tried to repair your relationship with your coach?

          Hi!

          Thanks for replying. As I said I was sent to the school therapist amd she is helping me find out what is it that couses the stress and the insomnia.

           

          I did not try to talk to my coach, I cannot really look him in tge eye anyway… And actually I am making these huge goals for myself and I keep failing them so I guess its not school that stresses me after all but myslef.
