Hi All, I am relatively new to this forum. In fact i just created this account. I am in early 20s, and i have been suffering from chronic insomnia for about 3 years. I remember, in 2018, i could sleep really well- about 7-8 hrs, but i would still feel sleepy and tired all day. To a point, i would have eye pain(lack of sleep), and constant in-need for more sleep. This has continued till now(2020). The unfortunate thing is, my sleep quota has reduced significantly, i wake up constantly, would sleep 3-4 hrs, Some days none. Last year(2019), i would sometimes sleep about 6-7 hours( without waking up), but i would still sleepy all day.

      My symptoms:
Not able to sleep at night, even if i did- i wake up constantly feeling hot/cold. I would change the home temperature all the time.
Constant sleepiness all day. No matter what, i am always sleepy. I tried sleeping in the mornings, whenever i sleepy( which is always), i am not able to sleep at all. The whole thing is weird, i am extremely sleepy, my eyes and brain is completely shut off of sleep. But still i am not able to sleep.

If i am suffering from sleep apnea, then why i cannot sleep in the mornings- even when i have a mounting rush of sleepiness?(sometimes unable to stand, or do any daily activities).

Or is this just high-functioning anxiety? Too many thoughts, not enabling me to sleep??

Any help is appreciated. Sorry for my grammar errors. I am not a native English speaker

If you are still feeling sleepy no matter how much sleep you get, I would suggest talking to a doctor since there could be something other than insomnia going on — sleep apnea could be present (sleep apnea can exist alongside insomnia), or there could be a number of other explanations for that daytime sleepiness.

        Good luck!
