      Hi, I thought I would introduce myself. I had no sleep issues until I was given a Lorazepam tablet one night. I have had myoclonus/hypnic jerks for the last 8 years after taking just that 1 tablet.
      The jerks are a lot better now, but I still wake up often and find it difficult to get back to sleep.
      I would like to try sleep restriction but it is so hot here at the moment I am not sure if it is a good idea as I am only getting 5 or 6 hours as it is. Maybe someone could recommend what I should do? Thank you.

        Thanks for the great question, Brian! With sleep restriction, the amount of time you allot for sleep should never be shorter than your average nightly sleep duration taken over the previous week or two — so it shouldn’t really be taking sleep away from you; rather, it usually takes away the opportunity for long periods of nighttime wakefulness!
