Hello. Insomnia came into my life with the pandemic and lockdown. Although the crisis has passed and many areas of life are seeming more “normal”, my sleep has not rebounded. I worry about getting so little sleep on an ongoing basis (since December, when I started tracking, I am averaging only about 5 hours a night — I used to sleep 8 or 9) and am starting to dread “bedtime” because I can look forward to hours of tossing and turning then waking up tired. I am hoping that this forum and the resources of Insomnia Coach will help me get back on track!

Welcome to the forum, umbra! You aren’t alone and there’s nothing unusual in your experience.

That tossing and turning doesn’t sound pleasant — I wonder if it might be a bit kinder to yourself to do something more appealing when you’re awake (and that wakefulness doesn’t feel good) instead of tossing and turning for hours?

If you are ready to stop struggling with insomnia you can enroll in the online insomnia coaching course right now! If you would prefer ongoing phone or video coaching calls as part of a powerful three month program that will help you reclaim your life from insomnia, consider applying for the Insomnia Mastery program.

Great idea, LOL! I have been staying in bed thinking somehow that will aid my falling asleep, but I’m beginning to learn that it’s better just to do something else until tiredness really manifests.
