I have good night as well as some bad ones. The good nights don’t bother me. However on the bad ones (where I can’t sleep or get very little sleep). I tend to think the worst possible thing: e.g FFI and SFI. I have PTSD and anxiety disorder. Is there a method or way that I can use (without drugs) to overcome these feelings and/or thoughts. I know that FFI is very rare and SFI is more rarer.

Sometimes it can be helpful to make a conscious effort to focus all your attention on the better nights! It’s natural for the brain to focus on the harder nights because the brain sees these as something that needs to be fixed — it wants to protect you from those nights, even though there’s no harm in them!

FFI/SFI is so rare that it really shouldn’t even enter your thinking as something to be concerned about. To my knowledge, there have been around 30 cases out of a global population of around eight billion (8,000,000,000). You are more likely to get crushed by a meteorite, become an astronaut, achieve sainthood, or win the Powerball lottery jackpot than to have FFI/SFI!

If you have PTSD and anxiety disorder it’s probably a good idea to discuss your concerns about this with your therapist if you are seeing one.

        I hope this helps!
