      Hi.
I wrote on this forum months, years ago.I have been struggling with insomnia for 9 years now.
I worked in night shifts for 6 years, and developped insomnia.I have been prescribed more then dozen of medication either they zone me out and I can not function over day, either they don’t have an effect.
Ofc when I went for help to psychiatrist he gave me a bunch of mental disorders (very serious ones) and just a reason to give me a.d. and a.p.
Currently for like around 5-6 years I do take 4 medications before sleep and I keep on waking up around 4:30 without ability to fell asleep again. This is really unusual phenomenon which was a terminal stage of my insomnia.
On some nights depending on the weather outside there are nights where I could not fall asleep.
I did not know that I can do poligraphy just to eliminiate sleep apnea because every simptom that I have (loud snoring, deviated septum, allergies, asthma) could tell that I have sleep apnea.
I was not able to to polisomnography in Bosnia here so I did poligraphy on this device (from pics) below and I don’t even know how valid is the result. The result showed that I don’t have sleep apnea, and I was so sceptic and I am still sceptic about it.
If it is not apnea, what is it?What could keep weaking up a person around 4:30 a.m. each night?
This lasts for like 2-3 years.
I do have a record of this device of my breathing and heart rate and Oxygen saturation but sadly I don’t have an app so I can open this file that I copied on my USB pen drive.
I still think I do have sleep apnea, or it is some kind of idiopatic insomnia, something happened to my brain when I was working in shifts and brain can not reset itself to previous normal stage.
Is there a doctor or any hospital which can figure out my medical condition which keeps waking me up every night at exact same time?
      Hormones? Depression? Anxiety?
Yeah I have a lot of stress in my life, my mum has dementia and I have a severe stressful work.
Nor I can change my mum, nor I can change my job, mosts of jobs here comes with stress because I live in poor city and country (Bosnia).
I will post pics of this device, so someone please tell me if it is registered for sleep apnea.
If it is, and showed that I don’t have sleep apnea then I suppose the result is trustful.

I am not familiar with that specific device and I don’t have expertise in sleep apnea.

Unfortunately nobody here can offer you a medical diagnosis or answer your questions with certainty. Consulting with a sleep doctor online or via telemedicine might give you more options and clarity.

            Hello frozensun!

Not an expert here. Your internal body clock is definitely able to do that. Everyone has an internal clock inside that regulates sleep/wake cycle. Just like the regulation of body temperature or water level in blood plasma. So what time do you go to bed? Why is waking at 430am a bad thing?

Because I fell asleep at around 22:30 with a hand full of meds, and 6 h is not enough for me.
I have all kinds of simptoms of sleep deprivation.

What is the diagnosis? Is it able to threat it?

You may just be a 6 hour person. When you have eliminated all the possibilities, which seems very likely from your years of efforts, then those ones that remain are closer to the answer.

Your body just doesn’t need more than 6 hours at one go. Or you may get more than 6 but you need to break them up into intervals. For example, 2230 – 430, then stay awake for an hour or two and then try again. You might be able to squeeze another hour or two out of it.

Any time spent awake automatically builds sleep drive. And whatever sleep you have demolishes any sleep drive accumulated from wakefulness. That’s just how sleep works. You can’t charge your phone over 100% when it’s already full. You can’t discharge it below zero either. There’s always this charging and discharging going on like this when it comes to sleeping.
