      Still very much in the struggle. Tapering off of Trazodone and looking into possible underlying medical causes. It’s been months and I’m suffering from extreme insomnia. Most nights 1-3 hours. Many nights are sleepless. Off of work because I have such brain fog. How do people function? Really would rather not do meds.

        Welcome to the forum, Chris. Have you looked into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I)?

        Ultimately, it’s the thoughts we have and the behaviors we implement in a bid to improve our sleep that perpetuate insomnia. So identifying and addressing these thoughts and behaviors is almost always the best way forward — and that’s why CBT-I techniques are so effective.
