Before I started working with Martin I had already tried CBTi with another therapist and felt very discouraged because insomnia actually became worse for me after working with the other therapist . I was very anxious and skeptical about trying CBTi again. What I really appreciated about working with Martin is that he tailors the techniques to work for the needs of every individual. The main thing Martin taught me is how to deal with my anxiety. My anxiety was so severe that even medication didn’t help. Martin patiently taught me different techniques to help with my anxiety and within only a few weeks I could already see so much improvement. My anxiety decreased and I was able to sleep regularly again. I am so thankful to Martin and I’d recommend him to anyone struggling with insomnia. I truly feel that if he could help me, he could help anyone!

Hi Scott, Thank you! Yes, Martin has a technique called “dropping the anchor”. It took a while for this to make sense to me at first because my anxiety was so bad that I didn’t see how it would work for me but with practice and persistence I started to see a difference. You just focus on and acknowledge the thoughts you’re thinking, accept them, don’t judge or try to rationalize them or even try to get rid of them, and then you focus on the thing that you are doing, preferably on something you enjoy.
Even though you may still have the thoughts, they become less intense and less anxiety inducing over time.

Thank you for posting this!!! Martin has not yet shared this technique with me yet.

Martin talked me out of being 😡 when I couldn’t 😴. And I see my anger is back – because I am now having trouble falling asleep instead of waking up after 2 or 3 hours of sleep. I notice I can do life on 2 – 3 hours but to have my insomnia double down and not allow me to fall asleep initially has got me 😭.
